Digital Preservation Policies
In line with UNESCO's notion of Digital Preservation, which defines it as "the processes aimed at ensuring the permanent accessibility of digital objects", the journal is committed to preserving its content for future generations. To do so, it implements the following processes:
Ensuring permanent accessibility
Identification and metadata: final documents for publication are identified, incorporating digital preservation metadata.
Accessible formats: all files are published in easily reproducible formats.
Backup and preservation strategies
Main backup: final files are backed up on external hard drives.
System backup: fortnightly backups of the software (Open Journal System) and its complete content are made on the servers of the Society.
Periodic update: the content of the journal is updated quarterly on external hard drives.
Long-term maintenance
Technological monitoring: the technological environment is monitored to anticipate possible migrations of obsolete formats or software.
The journal is included in PKP PN: this is a service that offers a "dark archive" solution for journals hosted on OJS (Open Journal Systems), it is a preservation network that keeps a backup copy of journals, ensuring that their content is available in the long term, even if the original journal stops working or is deleted.
