A very interesting biography of Emilio Penza Berlingeri, accompanied by numerous illustrations. It includes abundant documentation, transcriptions of commemorative pamphlets, and church records, but further exploration of his academic career in Italy is needed. It offers a more in-depth look at the medical, cultural, and philanthropic aspects of Durazno's first doctor from the East. It complements and enriches the biographical sketches previously written by Drs. Pedro Etcheverría Prieto and Barsabás Ríos, who knew and treated Don Emilio Penza professionally. This book delves into details about his family, the revalidation process, the reconstruction of the Palace, the origins and details of the Recreo (a local recreational area), and corrects some previous errors regarding the subject's political activity. It also provides a broad perspective on the philanthropist and his influence on the civil and urban development of the city of Durazno. A philanthropist is revealed who, after a life dedicated to serving his community through generous donations to support all causes, died in poverty, deserving of a legislator's request to initiate the process of granting him a pension.
