130 years contributing to public health
Abstract
The Instituto de Higiene “Prof. Arnoldo Berta" (Faculty of Medicine, University of the Republic) is celebrating its 130th anniversary. For 130 years, it has been dedicated to teaching, research, and outreach in health, playing a prominent role and having a significant impact on public health in our country and the region. Through its serums and vaccines, exceptional comprehensive teaching activities, and collaborative work with the Ministry of Public Health and other institutions, it has decisively contributed to limiting and overcoming many of the infectious diseases that severely affected our population. Today, it is experiencing a period of renewed achievements, looking toward a future full of promise and further accomplishments to continue contributing to the well-being of our people.
