Refereeing system
1. Only original and unpublished articles on the history of medicine, science and health, presented to peers at the SUHM Scientific Sessions and approved by the Board of Directors as candidates for publication, may be submitted to the journal.
2. Manuscripts submitted for publication will be subject to a preliminary evaluation by an editor to verify compliance with three requirements: (a) the minimum quality standards of the journal, (b) the Guidelines for Authors established in this document, and (c) the submission of the verification form (Annex 1) with the manuscript.
3. Manuscripts that meet these three requirements will be subject to double-blind peer review by the Scientific Committee. Each evaluator will have two weeks to submit their evaluation in writing using an evaluation form for referees (Annex 2), in which they must state whether the work is relevant and of sufficient quality to be published.
In the event of a dissenting opinion among the reviewers, a third evaluation by academic peers of notable suitability will be requested. Based on the result of this arbitration, the Journal reserves the right to accept or reject the publication of the works received, as well as to indicate to the author the need for modifications as a condition for reconsideration.
